The Big Dream 'The Village'

The Big Dream 'The Village'

The aim is to make the dream of a hub for the community a reality. A place to come together hold workshops, gatherings, events, have our own community garden where the produce can be used to make delicious meals for the onsite café that is open to the public, that is also an art gallery as the walls are adorned with local artist art. Local comedians, poets, music artists can come and showcase their talents. Next to the café a market that gives local independent businesses a chance to sell their wares direct to their customers. All this will be walking distance from 'The Village' a collection of eco homes for women centred around a large seated firepit, gathering barn, a creative studio, a gym and a clubhouse for the kids to hang out. There will also be sanctuary for animals so we can help foster animals as this is something that is needed. A place of true community where you can go to your neighbour for help, a chat and know they have your back. When your home life is steady, secure and safe it has such a positive knock on effect for your life.

EVERY SINGLE DAY I think about, talk about, research into, plan for 'The Village' it is one of the most dominating thoughts in my mind. Yes it seems like an unrealistic goal to some but even if i achieve a fraction of all of that I would be proud of the impact that was made. Even helping one woman to know her worth, know that she is capable of more than what she has been programmed to think and then she goes on to live a life more aligned to her own values then I'll be proud. One person at a time, one meet up at a time change will happen.

The aims for the community and the positive impact we want to have is huge. In a burning world we seek to do what we can to create a true community where everyone strives to be an intentional villager. Without each of us stepping up when we can the community falls apart. We seek to help women connect with other women who wish to build and expand their own villages but in order to do so we all must become the active villager, whether that is skill swapping, doorstep drops, cooking an extra meal, making a phone call, body doubling or simply listening without judgement.

If you feel this community is a bit of you don't be afraid to join in. This is a space for women and those who identify as women to come together and find solace in community. Love is an action, Joy is rebellion, Rest is Resistance!
