Get involved

The Joy of Collective is a community for women to build their own village while becoming an intentional villager.

We have many ways to get involved from free monthly meet-ups to paid events to a Patreon with continuous new content and challenges.

Walk and Talk

A free active meet-up where we meet at a local natural area and go for a walk and talk to each other. After the walk we either support a local café by finishing with a beverage and a chat or we get the blankets out and have a little picnic.

This active meet-up is to encourage gentle activity, foster connections, appreciate nature and support local businesses.

Cake and connect

A creative meet-up where we do something crafty, or learn a new skill while enjoying some cake. At previous meet-ups we have had women from the community sharing their skills in Crochet and Tarot which we will be doing again this year as they were requested by community members who missed these events.

Talking while crafting is a great way to open up to someone and create a connection as you are doing a shared activity, there isn't any intense eye contact as everyone is focused on their creative craft. The atmosphere is always chill, welcoming and fun.

These events are usually held at The flying horse pub and café on Waterford Road, Ipswich there are easy transport links and car parking directly outside and on the surrounding roads. There is ramped access and an accessible toilet.

Girls Night

Girls night is a relaxed evening meet-up designed for women to come as they are, connect with other women, and just get out the house.
Dress up, Dress down, come as you are comfortable. These are usually held at local venues to support local business and to try different places. It's also an excuse to wear that outfit you've been saving but never wear.

Patreon - Joyville www.patreon.com/joyville

This is the Patreon page where there is:

A monthly newsletter - This gives an overview of what is going on in the collective, what events are coming up and anything notable.

BTS Vlog - A behind the scenes vlog sharing my thoughts and feelings around building a community and a business.

Your Story Your Words - A conversation series where women share their stories in their own words.

Virtual book club - This book club is held online via Patreon live. We listen to a book for an hour once a week. Before listening we set the intention for the session, some may come to listen and relax others may use the time as a body doubling session helping them to get some tasks done and some may use it as accountability for getting thigs done that they have been putting off. It is a chance to come together listen to a book that has been chosen via two polls in the community. One that chooses the genre and another that chooses the book in that genre to listen to.
